So, I haven't been posting 'cuz I haven't gone to the gym this week... I've been swimming instead =D

Did 20 lengths on Tuesday and 30 today. I hit my stride today and probably could have done more, but my swimming buddy had to ditch me at 5.

You know, I meant to do some time on a treadmill this week... haha. The small amount of time I have spent on a treadmill has informed me that I'm not attempting that again without something for my right knee. My sister and I have the same knee problems, who knew? (ah, genetics, you sly dog)

So, today:
Stretches
Skipped my core stuff. Not so much skipped as forgot. Gotta work on that
3 circuits of weights. The abductor/adductor machine is evil.
1 hr 5 minutes on a bike. I started at resistance 4 and ramped my way up to either 10 or 11 by the end of the hour. Wasn't going particularly hard (did something like 10.5 miles), but I got in some reading and fun music.

On another note, I may actually have someone to go swimming with! That'll be super fun.

My Workout...

45 mins on a bike, 30 mins doing stretches and core stuff, 10 minutes in the spa with a book.

Today's gym update

Stretches, planks (still, owww)
Weights
30 minutes on a bike. J had ridden to work and back, then came to the gym with me to do cardio.... which he totally didn't need. I'll make up for the short time by swimming tomorrow. I swear I will swim.

By the way, I bought the new JoCo cd, Best. Concert. Ever.

It lives up to the title, though I think PAX 08 may edge it out due to mid-song rickrolling.

Today at the gym...

It was crowded and I slacked. Just did weights, all the cardio machines were in use (except for 1 of those leaping machines I used yesterday. I still hurt from that), so I decided to cut my visit short. I'm going for a bike ride later today to make up for it. Anyone care to join me

Today at the gym

Got J to go with me again, yay! My muscles are in revolt, and I couldn't lift my hips to try a side plank =(

30 mins on some weird elliptical/stairmaster hybrid. OMG the burn

20 mins on a bike.

Time to take 3 weeks of laundry up to Mom's... maybe I'll play around on Alex's pilates machine

5/23 Workout

Stretches
Core strengthening stuff (plank, side plank [owwie])
30 mins on an elliptical. I bumped up both my resistance and crossramp today! Woot!
25ish mins on a bike.

Went with J today, which was awesome. Even though we were in our own little ipod fueled worlds it was nice to have somebody there with me. Also, he kept me honest with those side planks. My version of "hold for 20 seconds" is much shorter than his.

Today's workout:

3/4 of a mile on the treadmill for a warmup, stretches, etc.

Met with my trainer, we worked out a weight training plan, mostly working on my legs (I want hot and sexy gams), and some core stuff. I've got another appointment with him in 2 weeks to do a heart rate test, so we can better tailor my cardio workouts.

Then I did a couple minutes on the elliptical, but my legs were kinda jello from the weights, so I left a bit early. The new plan is to do weights on MWF, cardio on M-Sa, and take Sunday off. It may change a bit when I figure out when J can come with.


By the way, does anyone want me to put this on a filter/behind a cut? I can understand if you don't want to read the minutia of my workouts.

Yesterday at the gym:
20 mins on the elliptical then some stretching. I was running really late after doing laundry, and I didn't want to miss the farmers market

Today's workout (5/21)
Elliptical: 2.5 magical fun time units
Bike: 5 units that I will discover soon
Lots of stretching and some situps, then a long time in the sauna. I was going to swim, but then I tried to get into my old suit. Belgh, I've packed on way too many pounds.

Eliptical: 2.25 (miles? kilometers? I'm not actually sure what it measures)
Bike: 6 (magical fun time units)
Treadmill: .5 miles
Water consumed: about 40 oz

I also made an appointment with a personal trainer for friday, so I think I'm going to hold off doing any weight training 'til I have a pro with me.

Hello LiveJournal land!

I've made a commitment. I'm going to lose at least 20 lbs by Halloween (And hey, if I can lose more... GREAT). I've started going to the gym (Davis Athletic Club, if anyone wants to join me. I would loooove company), and I'm going to start posting my workouts on LJ. Here's my request to you: give me your support! Words of encouragement = awesome. Poke me if you haven't seen a post in a while.

So, here's my stats from workout #1 (May 18, 2009)
Weight: 154 lbs

Elliptical: 3 miles on the weight-loss program
Stationary bike: 5 miles on the weight-loss program
Treadmill: 1 mile, because I was starting to lose control of my lower body.

No weights or anything on day 1, I wanted to break in my new and spiffy running shoes.

So yeah, if anyone wants to join me at DAC, gimme a ring/tweet/email/post something here. Having somebody there makes it all easier. Also, I have 9 punches left on my card, so come with me even if you're not a member.

It's been removed for the 3rd, and hopefully last, time. The podiatrist put me on a z-pack to kill the infection, so hopefully that'll clear up too. She was really nice and quick, but it's now getting swollen and icky.

J and I have a printer/scanner combo (HP Photosmart) that has decided that it doesn't want to print anymore. Anyone want it? Chances are it's fixable, I just couldn't get it to work and we eventually threw in the towel and bought a new cheap one at Frys. The scanner part works just fine, though.

Metrophelean picked up Spore this morning and is taunting me by playing it with his headphones on.

In other news, our bathroom is half-painted. I just have to get off my lazy butt and do the ceiling and the trim. Then I'll have a bathroom again. Squee!

((For those of you who didn't know, our bathroom and kitchen have been undergoing some remodeling over the last week and a half. New tile, new vanity, new toilet. Now there's also a new coat of paint =D ))

My head feels like it is about to asplode. I'm pretty sure I've just got a cold (aside from the sinuses my major symptom is joint pain), but part of me wonders if the landscaping efforts at my apartment complex hit me as a major allergy attack.

Borders in Davis has broken the street date on D&D 4th Edition. When I was there this evening, they had approx. 14 PHBs, 10 DMGs and 10 MMs.

Also, if you get their emails, there's a 30% off 1 item coupon that's valid through the weekend.
